My rheumatoid factor is normal. That factor isn’t the only diagnostic criteria for RA – check anti-CCP. Get treated early, see a rheumatologist. Delay can cause irreversible damage. Anyway, I’m better now, no pain. Thanks to TYIAI for the invaluable advice.

Sis, I’m 40. Got RA in 2005. Everything that could deform has deformed. Lost my ability to work. Now have bilateral femoral head necrosis, both knees need replacement, just got right hip replaced. Doctor said I can’t stop meds or it’ll relapse. Been 5 years, too scared to stop. Most urgent complication now is osteoporosis. Long disease duration brings other dangerous complications. 5-6 years with RA. Told I had severe “cold” in my body, immune system dysregulated, rheumatoid factor wouldn’t drop. Tried all sorts of meds, nothing worked. Cried daily, lost appetite. So scary to see. I just tested positive for the factor, other results normal. But right-hand morning stiffness daily. Doc won’t diagnose, says “wait and see”, yet my right middle finger is already swollen. Is there a long pre-onset phase for RA? Freaking out. Can’t believe this actually worked here.
